Earth Day: Sustainable Parenting Practices

Earth Day: Sustainable Parenting Practices

In honor of Earth Day (and of course, our Earth Day Sale that has second chance carriers up to 50% off) we wanted to share some of our favorite sustainable parenting practices with you. It might seem difficult to think of how to be environmentally conscious when your entire life is already occupied with a little human being, however, we promise you that it is easier than you think to make these small changes that create a major impact!

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is a great eco-friendly choice (based on your preference of course) that not only provides great nutrition for your baby, but also eliminates some of the need for plastic bottles and formula cans. Plus, it serves as an amazing bonding experience!

Cloth Diapering

Yep, we're going old-school with this one. Cloth diapering is not only better for the environment but also saves a ton of money in the long run. Don’t worry, it's not as daunting as it sounds once you get used to it.

Baby-Led Weaning

With this method, you will be able to finally cut down on jars of baby food and generate less waste! Baby-led weaning allows your little one to explore different foods at their own pace, which means less packaging and more variety. Baby-led weaning isn't just about less waste, it's also about simplifying mealtime. Adapt your meals slightly to make them baby-friendly, and voila!

Second-Hand Everything

Babies grow like weeds, so why spend a fortune on brand new stuff they'll outgrow in a matter of months? Hit up thrift stores, swap meets, and online marketplaces for gently used baby gear. Not only are you saving money, but you're also giving these items a second life.

Simplify, Simplify, Simplify

Who needs a cabinet full of baby products when you can get by with just a few essentials? Coconut oil for moisturizing, cornstarch or kaolin clay for diaper rash, and natural fabrics for clothing. Keep it simple and eco-friendly.

Toys Galore

You don't need a mountain of plastic toys to keep your little one entertained. Invest in a few high-quality toys made from natural materials and let their imagination run wild with household items. Trust me, your house will always be their favorite playground regardless.

Cut Down on Baby Items

Do you really need that fancy diaper pail or the latest baby gadget? Probably not. Focus on the essentials and declutter the rest. Your sanity (and the planet) will thank you.

Sustainable parenting doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. By making a few simple changes, we can raise happy, healthy babies while also taking care of the world they'll inherit. And hey, if we all pitch in, maybe we can make the planet a little greener for future generations!

Testimonials

This is exactly what I was looking for. It’s light weight, basic, and made of a rain coat type material. I plan to use this in the pool this summer for my 10 month old when juggling my other two.

This is our favorite carrier we’ve used. It’s so much lighter than any other carrier we’ve used and baby girl loves it!

Perfect baby carrier for us. It's lightweight but still supportive. It has a nice, good look to it. It's also practically made and the zipper/pocket storage is great. Also, I can take this anywhere with us because it's compact.

I bought this because I needed a carrier to take my son with me on hikes, it works really well for us. I use it for everything from taking him on errands to doing chores around the house.
